The ECO4 initiative

Receive 100% free funding towards your energy-efficient home improvements, courtesy of the big six energy companies. As part of their Government-mandated carbon reduction efforts, they're committed to helping eligible homeowners make their homes more energy-efficient. Since its launch in April 2022, the government's ECO4 scheme, regulated by Ofgem, has been working to increase energy efficiency across Great Britain. This program is particularly focused on lowering energy costs for moderate and low-income households.

ECO4 focuses on providing essential support to those who need it most, ensuring that families can access affordable energy solutions while also contributing to the nation’s broader goals of sustainability and energy conservation.

By improving energy efficiency, the program not only helps lower utility bills but also promotes a greener future, benefiting both the economy and the environment.

Through this initiative, the government is committed to making a tangible difference in the lives of many, fostering a society where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

Since 2013, the Energy Company Obligation (ECO) has played a vital role in the UK government's strategy to reduce fuel consumption and improve energy efficiency in homes. Currently, we are in Phase 4 of ECO, which began in April 2022.

ECO requires major energy suppliers to achieve significant carbon reductions by enhancing household energy efficiency.

Eligibility criteria set by Ofgem may change, so if you didn’t qualify in Phase 3, you might be eligible for Phase 4.

Services Available

Up to £35,000 available per household

Replacement Boiler

An efficient boiler system provides several benefits including: significantly lower energy bills due to reduced fuel consumption, a smaller carbon footprint by emitting less greenhouse gases, increased home comfort through more even heating, potential increase in property value, improved safety features, and a longer lifespan compared to older, less efficient models

Smart Heating Controls

Smart heating controls, like thermostats and heaters, can help you save money on energy bills, control your home's temperature, and track your energy usage. Smart thermostats can learn how quickly a building heats and cools and will even adjust for the weather.

Central Heating Grants

Grants for Insulation

Homes can lose up to 25% of their heat through a poorly insulated roof, and up to 35% through poorly insulated walls and windows. A well-insulated home can provide year-round comfort, help increase energy efficiency and save a lot of money on your annual energy bills by keeping heat loss to a minimum.

Heat Pump Grants

Heat pumps are more efficient than traditional heating systems like oil or gas boilers. Heat pumps work by taking heat from the air or ground, increasing the heat, and transferring it into your home. Upgrading a Boiler To a Heat Pump is 3x More Efficient, & Reduces Carbon Emissions by 70%.

Solar Panel Grants

We should all switch to solar energy because it is a clean, renewable energy source that significantly reduces carbon emissions, helping to combat climate change, while also offering potential cost savings on electricity bills by generating your own power from sunlight, making you more energy independent; essentially, it's good for the environment and your wallet.

Frequently Asked Questions

The ECO4 scheme gets its funding from energy companies and the UK government to make homes more energy-efficient. They do this to save energy, help those who need it most, protect the environment, and reach the ultimate net zero goal by the year 2050.

Through the ECO4 scheme, you can access free grants for energy-saving home improvements. This includes upgrades like insulation, new heating systems, and renewable energy installations. These measures lead to lower energy bills, reduced carbon footprints, and help alleviate fuel poverty.

Yes, you generally need to receive certain benefits to qualify for ECO4 measures, though there are some exceptions.

While installation times vary, ECO4 upgrades are usually completed quickly. Basic measures like loft insulation can be installed in a matter of hours. Even more complex projects, like air source heat pumps, typically take just a few days to a week. Most installations are finished within a couple of weeks.
